YAKOV AND HIS LIFE
Already a mature conceptual master by the time he emigrated from the former Soviet Union in 1991, Yakov Kandinov was forced to leave a large portion of his finished work behind. Mr. Kandinov was widely recognized as an artist of considerable importance in his country, having created several murals, numerous sculptures and countless paintings before emigrating.
Yakov Kandinov settled in San Diego where he makes his living as an artist, working to reestablish the reputation in the former Soviet Union. He has already created a number of striking murals for businesses and private homes.
Mr. Kandinov has had exclusive international exhibitions in Germany, India and Poland. His art may be found in private collections around the world, including American cities like New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco and San Diego, Tel Aviv and Jerusalem in Israel, Toronto, Canada, also Austria, Australia, Japan and of course, the Russian cities of Moscow and St. Petersburg.
Yakov is also known in San Diego as an art teacher. For several years he run classes for gifted students in La Mesa and other areas. His students were awarded in State and National Art Festivals and artworks printed in calendars and mass media.
Architects, Designers, Decorators, Contractors as well as home and business owners work closely with Mr. Kandinov on every project. With Yakov's experience and creativity their desires and innovative ideas are materialized in unforgettable masterpieces.
